Time For Truth March

Family campaign groups are calling on you to join them on the Time for Truth march, on Sunday 25th February to Belfast city hall.

McGurk’s Bar, Loughinisland, Ballymurphy, Springhill, New Lodge 6, and Kelly’s Bar families have joined together to launch news of the march, Time For Truth. John Kelly from the ‘Bloody Sunday’ campaign will chair the march.

John Kelly said:

“The support we got from the public over many years helped us in our campaign for truth and justice. I am once again calling for people to march for truth on Sunday February 25th in Belfast City centre”.

John Taggart of the Time for Truth Committee stated:

“The march on Sunday 25th of February is open to all families, irrespective of their background, who lost loved ones or were injured in the conflict. Truth belongs to everyone. It does not belong to any one group or individual. When the institutions of the state deny people access to the truth, they are left with only one option and that is to take to the streets and peacefully protest for their rights. Therefore, we are calling on all sectors of society to support the ‘Time for Truth March’. The pursuit of truth is a matter for all of society, in particular the British and Irish governments. We are calling on them to honour the agreements already reached by implementing the Stormont House Agreement legacy mechanisms and to adequately resource them, to implement the Lord Chief Justices 5 year plan by resourcing coroners legacy inquests, and the adequate resourcing of the Ombudsmans’ Office.”

Ciarán MacAirt of the Time for Truth Committee said:

“Families have to fight to this day for scraps of information and even a semblance of justice.  With every battle they are re-traumatized and with every passing year we lose family campaigners. No more.”
